Anna Gillcrist is a comedian/actor/writer/producer from Kansas City, MO. She graduated in 2012 with a BFA in theatre from Stephens College, then immediately relocated to Los Angeles where she found a passion for stand up comedy and writing.
Anna has worked non-stop writing and creating for herself, including her recent Emmy Award-winning web series 'Dicks' (not a porn so don't get your hopes up). The series is a female-driven buddy cop show about two officers who just try to get through each day without getting fired. Kim Estes won the Emmy for Best Actor in a Short Form Comedy Series. In 2016, she collaborated with Friend Dog Studios and starred in one of the fastest viral videos of the year, '2016: The Movie (trailer)', a parody horror trailer reflecting on the mishaps of the past year that got a total of 65 million views in under 3 days. Elizabeth Banks' company, Whohaha, has taken a liking to Gillcrist, and recently chose her as their Creator Of The Week, featuring all of her content, tweets, and stand up, allowing her to take over their snapchat and go Facebook live for them where she attempted to cook and give advice.
Most recently, Anna performed on Kristen Schaal and Kurt Braunohler's show 'Hot Tub' at The Virgil. She has also appeared multiple times on Cameron Esposito and Rhea Butcher's show 'Put Your Hands Together' at UCB Franklin. Early this year Anna was in a production of "I Was Made in the 80s" at The Groundlings. She also opened for John Mulaney at UCB East.
Anna can be seen performing at comedy clubs all over the city. Check your local listings and her social media for upcoming show dates and times.
